(512) IPA at The Ginger Man, Austin, TX
Considering Texas seems to be home of crappy lagers (Shiner, Lone Star, etc etc), I was surprised at how incredible this IPA is. Only 65 IBU's I guess, but it sure felt like it bit harder than a Racer 5. It'd easily be my go-to beer if I lived out here. Bonus: For 512's second anniversary they brewed Two, a double IPA. Also awesome and, what luck, the release party is Saturday at their brewpub in South Austin. Wonder where I'll be ... (Aug. 25, 2010)

First up is an October 2nd performance at the Greek Theatre. Tickets for that go on sale August 22nd...

Get them to the Greek! Arcade Fire is playing w/Calexico in Berkeley on Saturday, Oct. 2. Tickets go on sale on Thursday. Who's with me? (I want to go to the Big Sur show on Oct. 5, too, but we have a huge systems rollout here at work that very night. Now I hope they delay it so I can go.)

Split this with my brother: Blackened medium rare Painted Hills beef with 4oz foie gras, melted brie, black truffle, sun-dried tomato aioli, roasted tomatoes and chili garlic on a brioche bun. Lagunitas Hop Stoopid double IPA on draft to wash it down. Oh. My. A-mazing.
